City Dental’s history

City Dental was founded in 2005 by Mattias Santesson. The idea for the clinic came about because he felt that dental care was far too expensive. The solution would be to create large clinics, taking advantage of economies of scale and the latest technology, thereby providing less expensive, quality dental care. Mattias also saw that it was common for dental clinics abroad to be located on nice, central streets; something he thought would also work in Sweden.

City Dental, at Drottninggatan 27, became the country’s first low cost clinic. When it opened on 15th November 2005 it already had 2,000 patients booked in. The rush of patients who wanted a dental appointment was so great that a huge number of extra staff had to be called in just to deal with the booked appointments.

City Dental is the largest single private dental clinic in the Nordic region, with over 100 employees and more than 150,000 treated patients.
